i like to see people get involved and help to put focus on Generational incarceration to help young people stay out of prison. Its also a victims right issue because for ever kid we reach that is one less victim out there in the world. I’d like to see funding for 25yr old non-profit organization Reconciliation http://www.reconciliations.org leader in stopping cycle of generational incarceration out of Nashville Tennessee. I would like a book deal and later a movie deal to raise money to use in the long struggle for policy change in how we as a Nation handle our criminal justice system…. My lofty goal is to close prison’s and open up healing centers where when the book gets thrown at some one its the DSM5 (mental health diagnostic bible) I believe that criminal behavior is a symptom of mental illness and should be treated not punished.
The first challenge is too have a serious dialogue and change our mind set from cowboy justice and revenge and pandering to vigilantism. We need to stop doing what does not work. we have been doing the same way since the founding of our Nation and it has not slowed crime down one victim. In fact there is evidence that our approach has actually made us less safe, by creating a subculture of violent criminals who are in truth mentally ill
